Legal basis: Article 55 of Regulation (EU) No 508/2014
Measure summary: Public health measures take the form of compensation to mollusc farmers for the temporary suspension of harvesting of farmed molluscs, exclusively for reasons of public health. Support may only be granted where the temporary suspension of harvesting of farmed molluscs lasts for more than four consecutive months or the loss, resulting from the suspension of the harvest, amounts to more than 25 percent of the annual turnover of the business concerned, calculated on the basis of the average turnover of that business over the three calendar years preceding the year in which the harvest was suspended. The support may be granted for a maximum of 12 months or, in duly justified cases, for a combined maximum of 24 months over the entire programming period 2014–2020.
Beneficiaries: Registered aquaculture companies involved in cultivation of aquatic organisms.
Intensity of public aid: The public aid intensity is 100 percent of the eligible expenditure of the operation.
