Operation summary

The aim of the project is to increase people's awareness of healthy nutrition and increase food and fish foods, thus improving healthy nutrition among pupils, teachers, parents and residents of the LAG area, and hence the development of aquaculture as an important economic activity in the LAG area. A mobile fish market will allow the supply of fresh fish. Newly established partnerships between Posavje's farms and Posavje's elementary schools will focus on the integration of fish into school nutrition. The project works on the basis of LDS opportunities and challenges: P4: The project connects producers and target groups (primary schools) to the project to get to know the potential of local fresh food and introduce it into the menus for better quality food. The elderly refers to a quality diet. P8: The project will also work on the tourist offer of Sevnica and the LAG area with a fish market, as it will concentrate the offer of the area not only on fish, but also on other local products and products. P11: The project will create a new service that will work on the quality of life in the LAG area, besides establishing the partnership and linking this partnership to the fish market will also act as an upgrade of the space and make it more attractive. P16: The project fully strengthens the healthy lifestyle of the population by developing healthy eating habits, both youngest and adults. The main activities of the operation are: Project coordination and management, Arranging of space and purchase of equipment for the fish market, Purchase of ice maker, Implementation of a practical workshop for school and preschool chefs and cooks, and school leaders, Introduction of school meals with fish from the local environment, fish farm and fishing day for preschool children and their parents, Preservation of biodiversity in the pond Sevnica, Guided tour of the fish path to the Blanca hydroelectric power plant and a view of the pond in Sevnica, Creation of an educational film and purchase of a TV screen, Organizing an outdoor science classroom and Promoting and informing the public. The objectives of the operation are: Improved awareness of the importance of healthy eating fish for increased interest in supplying fresh and high quality of Posavije fish, Improved conditions for direct marketing of fresh fish by arranging market space and purchase of equipment for mobile fish market, Increased use of fresh Posavina fish in public institutions (primary schools and kindergartens) are training programs for school chefs and cooks, and the introduction of regular meals from fish to school menus, increased visibility of Posavina fish suppliers to potential buyers with partnering and promotion of Posavje fish and activities in the fish market and day of open doors, increased knowledge, interest and care for wild fish in the natural environment of watercourses. The expected results of the project are: increased awareness of the inhabitants of the region about the importance of enjoying healthy Posavina fish and the natural ecosystem of fish, increased use of fish in the diet in elementary schools, a cooking workshop, a training farm and a recorded film, the preservation of biodiversity in the Sevnica fish pond, market place. The impact of the project is long-lasting, since the target group is primarily the elementary school, which will influence the eating habits of children, and consequently also the other inhabitants of the LAG area with a range of activities, and can be transferred to other areas. The established mobile fish market will enable the inhabitants to provide permanent supply of fresh Posavje fish to the market. Innovation: the construction of a fish market in Posavje is a specialty because there is no such market in Posavje. Linking offers and locally grown food through market partnerships is a new and proper way to develop the project. Improving the state of the environment: Through the activities of the project, the understanding of the fish environment and the environment in general, and with this the need to protect the environment, will be ensured. In this way, the people of the LAG will be aware of the natural state of watercourses, the types of fish in streams and in production, and understand which influences have the greatest impact on fish stocks.
